The ITAVA logo called the Nea Onnim; it is an Adinkra symbol originated from the Gyaman people of Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire (Africa). It is one of the many visual symbols that represent concepts, proverbs, and aphorisms. 
 
The meaning and philosophical significance of Nea Onnim:
Nea Onnim means “He who does not know.” It is from the Akan proverb, “Nea onnim no sua a ohu,” which translates as, “When he who does not know learns, he gets to know.” It is a symbol of knowledge, life-long education, and continued quest for knowledge.
